Audio version read to my little cousin who passed away on Tuesday, as part of a way to enjoy our last few moments with her。 I will cherish the memories of her, and I will cherish the moment the whole family gathered around her to listen to this story。--This story in particular made us all cry。 Our little star has gone back up to the heavens and shines the brightest of all, but we can't help but wish she was back here with us。 Life just isn't going to be the same。 Rest in peace, sweet angel。 Audio version read to my little cousin who passed away on Tuesday, as part of a way to enjoy our last few moments with her。 I will cherish the memories of her, and I will cherish the moment the whole family gathered around her to listen to this story。--This story in particular made us all cry。 Our little star has gone back up to the heavens and shines the brightest of all, but we can't help but wish she was back here with us。 Life just isn't going to be the same。 Rest in peace, sweet angel。 。。。more

odd, but very fun tale about the fun of being invisible, AND the difficulties of becoming visible again。

Fun book!

Ignatius Chimpius

One of the great books of Australian fantasy。 The prose in this book are among the best you will ever find。 The themes the book touches on are absolutely defining of Australia。 I would recommend this book to people who want a fantasy book that defines Australia and to people who are interested in fantasy with a political flair。

This charming story follows two possums and a group of their friends。 Grandma Poss uses her magic to make Hush invisible。 Hush finds this to be very useful, but after a while wishes to be seen again。 When Grandma Poss can't remember the antidote, they begin a very eventful journey around Australia before returning home。 It follows the home, away, home pattern of storytelling。I'm an American, but I lived in Australia for a few years。 This connection makes this book even more endearing to me。 I lo This charming story follows two possums and a group of their friends。 Grandma Poss uses her magic to make Hush invisible。 Hush finds this to be very useful, but after a while wishes to be seen again。 When Grandma Poss can't remember the antidote, they begin a very eventful journey around Australia before returning home。 It follows the home, away, home pattern of storytelling。I'm an American, but I lived in Australia for a few years。 This connection makes this book even more endearing to me。 I love how the possums travel to different parts of Australia eating the food and experiencing the culture。 As a teacher, this book would be great to use as a precursor for a social studies unit on making maps。 Students could follow Grandma Poss and Hush's adventures on a map。 You could also use this book when learning about the culture and people of Australia。 。。。more

I've read lots of Mem Fox but somehow missed this one。 An adorable story with lots of Aussie flair。 The adorable possum illustrations are so charming, with the quirky magician grandma riding her bike, and little Hush being invisible。 Very cute。 I've read lots of Mem Fox but somehow missed this one。 An adorable story with lots of Aussie flair。 The adorable possum illustrations are so charming, with the quirky magician grandma riding her bike, and little Hush being invisible。 Very cute。 。。。more

This is a cute story that I enjoyed reading and my children enjoyed it since the characters were animals。 It also is an educational book that explores the places, foods, and animals of Australia。 It also has magical components that will keep children's attention。 The illustrations show the types of animals and places and food that the book talks about on each page。 The story has a cute ending that children will also enjoy。 I would highly recommend this book for beginning readers or readers who c This is a cute story that I enjoyed reading and my children enjoyed it since the characters were animals。 It also is an educational book that explores the places, foods, and animals of Australia。 It also has magical components that will keep children's attention。 The illustrations show the types of animals and places and food that the book talks about on each page。 The story has a cute ending that children will also enjoy。 I would highly recommend this book for beginning readers or readers who can already read on their own。 。。。more

This book is about a young possum and his grandma。 His grandma wasn't just any possum, she was a possum with magic powers! They would both go on crazy adventures together。 One day they went all the way to Tasmania to just eat snacks。 Reading this as an adult the story line was a little confusing and all over the place for me, but maybe as a child I would have enjoyed it more。 This book is about a young possum and his grandma。 His grandma wasn't just any possum, she was a possum with magic powers!
